During the summer of
2002, La FUENTE Learning Center partnered with the Mexican Consulate to offer
two four-week summer camps in which children learn of the history, culture,
art and sports of Mexico.
Instructors from Mexico are brought to Austin for this program. This program
will be hosted again in the summer of 2003. As part of this program, La
FUENTE partners with the Austin City Parks and Recreation Department to
provide free sack lunches to over 100 children daily who attend the Plan
Vacacional and the Cristo Rey Catholic Church Vacation Bible School.
